The Swedish Embassy in Washington D.C., United States, will broadcast live in high definition the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Malmö, Sweden. The event will take place on the 18th of May from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM (EDT). The Eurovision Songcontest brings together 39 countries, watched by 600 million viewers and with only one winner! The Embassy of Sweden in Washington DC, in partnership with the EU Delegation and European Broadcasting Union, supported by EUNIC, is bringing all the action via 6 HD screens to Washington, DC. The only place outside of Europe to LIVE broadcast the Eurovision in HD.
EUNIC Washington is looking for interns in the field of culture and communication in Baltimore (MD). It is a three to five month contract. The internship will be based at the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts. The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist in the administration of the culture program and communication activities, coordination of film programs and panel discussion. The intern will also provide related support to the Cultural Affairs Assistant Director (BOPA) and will work as liaison with the EUNIC in Washington DC.
Duties include: liaise between EUNIC members and the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts and assist in the coordination of the initiative, logistics and communications.
Washington DC, 7 December - The Washington DC cluster or the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) was officially launched by the Ambassador João Vale de Almeida, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the United States on December 7th at the Delegation of the European Union.
On November 15, ninety-five people attended the film screening that presented the best of European creative short stories. The audience was very receptive to the moving, hilarious and poignant short films from United Kingdom, Greece and Slovenia among others.
