EUNIC Cluster Thailand
The EUNIC Cluster Thailand is supporting the street art festival BUKRUK/THAI-EUROPE CONNECTION in Bangkok. BUKRUK is the first large-scale collaboration of Thailand and Europe in street art and illustration: 16 European artists from 10 European countries and 11 Thais, all most talented and with cutting-edge in their fields, will come together to paint live and exhibit their work.

To mark the European Day of Languages (September 26th, 2012), nearly 200 young Thais and Europeans participated in the first European Languages Café held at Too Fast To Sleep Café, where multilingual speakers had a chance to meet and socialize in English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese around tables.

On September 26, the Too Fast To Sleep café will turn into a space of multi-language exchange for students to mark the European Day of Languages. Established in 2001 by the Council of Europe and held each year on September the 26th, the European Day of Languages is an opportunity to celebrate language diversity and promote language studies. Several events are held on that day throughout Europe and other parts of the world. Meetings and talks, exhibitions and games are organized to enable people to appreciate Europe’s tremendous wealth of languages: there are more than 200!
Bangkok, 19 September 2012 – The Ambassadors of France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the European Union today announced that their cultural organizations have established a common framework for the promotion of European culture and European-Thai cultural dialogue and exchange. EUNIC Thailand (European Union National Institutes of Culture Thailand) unites the Alliance française, the British Council, the French Embassy, the Goethe Institut of Germany, the Instituto Camões of Portugal, the Italian Embassy and the Spanish Embassy as its members, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand.
