Film discussion on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day by EUNIC in Krakow, 27 January
On the 27th of January, the EUNIC Cluster in Krakow organised a film discussion on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The event started with the presentation of the film trilogy by the Dutch-Israeli artist Yael Bartana “And Europe will be stunned” which was Poland’s official entry to the Venice Biennale in 2011. Following the film a discussion on the film’s content was moderated by former chief commissioner of Jewish Museum Vienna, Dr. Felicitas Heimann-Jelinek.
On the occassion of International Translation Day several events will be organised in Cracow (October 1st) and Warsaw (October 2nd) in cooperation with European Commission and local partners. Students, translators, publishers and general audience will have the opportunity to discuss challenges, attend subject related film screenings and enjoy school lessons provided by experienced translators.
EUNIC in Poland Krakow will participate at the Krakow Science Festival (11-14 May). The festival will promote science through a series of presentations, workshops, lectures and exhibitions. A leading theme for 2011 is "Matter-Man-Culture".
