The tradition of organizing of an initiative called « Cultural Dialogue China EUNIC » reaches back to the year 2008, when the very first of the meetings took place in Beijing, China.  Two other conferences followed in 2009 and 2010, in Copenhagen and Shanghai respectively. The 4th edition of the Dialogue was held in Luxembourg between the 26th and the 28th of October 2011.

Unlike the preceding three events, « Cultural Dialogue China EUNIC 2011» broke free from convectional program standards of key speeches and presentations and devoted considerably more importance to actual creation, interaction between the participants and face to face discussions in small working groups during the conference.

What made the « Cultural Dialogue China EUNIC 2011» an outstanding and extremely efficient events?
For the start it was the general structure and methodology of the conference.
Twenty artists and curators from China and Europe were invited to Luxembourg a week before the event in order to work in three different workshops (Photographers Workshop, Installation Art Creation Workshop and Design Works Creation Workshop).

The created works were displayed during the first day of the conference and all the artists were actively participating in the program activities, contributing with insights and explaining the project work accomplished in the course of the previous week.
The first evening of the dialogue meeting successfully attempted to combine the world of arts with the sphere of finance by organizing a Conference « Art and Finance », attended by more than 200 people and co-organized by Deloitte consulting.

Days two and three were dedicated to « Cultural Heritage Protection and Urban development », « Functions of Cultural Centers in the Process of Urban Re-construction », « The Role of creative Industries in the Strategy of Sustainable Urban Development » and « The Role of Arts in the 21st Century ».
The last point of the agenda was reserved for presentation of the « Europe China Cultural Compass » a manual for anyone diving in the sphere between those two worlds.
The overall success of the « Cultural Dialogue China EUNIC 2011», participated by 61 representatives from 10 countries of Europe, promoting artistic cooperation and broadening the participation to non- EUNIC members was a common effort of the organizing team, participants and artists, who turned it into one of a kind conference.
