"Three times fifteen?", Debate on the role of the cultural centers in local development
Three times fifteen - 15 directors of cultural centers coming from all over Tunisia, 15 associated animators from Bizerte and 15 experts from Morocco and from the EU members of EUNIC, gathered together in Bizerte from 12 to 15 July to exchange experience on crucial issues for today’s Tunisia:
- How to enhance the role of cultural centers in the local development?
- How to strengthen their links with schools, associations, social service and the enterprices?
- How can culture contribute to "living together"?
In the opinion of all participants, and according to the very positive feedback from the audience, the roundtable in Bizerte was held with a big success.
Among the experts from Europe, there were two Belgians: Sonia Triki, Animator of the Cultural Centre and Centre for Social Cohesion in Molenbeek (Brussels) and Bernard Herlin, Director of the Youth Centre “La Prairie”
(Mouscron, Wallonia).
Cluster EUNIC Tunisia, which brings together the cultural institutes of the European countries active in Tunisia, was supported by different organisations and institutions to realise this event: Municipality of Bizerte, the Delegation of the European Union in
Tunisia, the CFE company, the Cultural Centre Cheikh Driss, the Institutes and cultural services of the EU member countries, as well as the Bizerte Cinéma Association, Association of Former students of Bizerte, and the Association “La volonté à Metline”.
The project supports the development of the Euro-Maghreb international exchange for youth and artists.
