On the 26th of September, the European Cultural Institutes in EUNIC Spain will open their doors once again to celebrate European Day of Languages. Twenty cultural institutes based in Madrid are taking part in the activities this year, whose aim is to promote interest in language learning, showcase lesser well known cultures, and allow the public to discover artists and gastronomy from other parts of Europe. Throughout the day over 40 activities will take place, including: plays, food tasting, cinema workshops for kids, guided tours, language classes, storytelling…..the list goes on!
In June, a Spanish and an international community of poetry slammers gathered in Madrid. The members of EUNIC Spain were very excited to collaborate with Poetry Slam Madrid to present the 1st International Poetry Slam at CentroCentro. Promising talents from Spain, Finland, Germany, France, Czech Republic and Switzerland gave their best in a multilingual marathon, on the World Music Day.
EUNIC Spain is excited to present the second edition of its European Day of Languages on the 26th of September in Madrid. Once again, European cultural institutes will have their doors wide open to a general public to experience a cultural and linguistic marathon.Visitors are invited to find out more about languages through appetizer language courses; to discover other cultures through film, music, theatre, food and to take part in many activities, games, competitions and more!
From the 3th to the 5th of October 2012, the Fira de Barcelona will host a new edition of Liber, the biggest trade fair for the publishing industry in Spain. EUNIC participates on the 4th of October from 13 :00 to 14 :00 in an event to present different european aids for book publishing.
EUNIC in Spain is happy to present a ground breaking cultural and linguistic marathon, giving the people of Madrid the chance to take part in over 40 original and engaging activities. We hope to promote the study of languages, raise awareness around less known cultures and encourage everyone to think about possible travel destinations and discover new artists and talents, as well as food from other cultures.
Our main engagement in 2009 was with young audience. EUNIC Espana, established in 2008, connected with the juvenile public through the symposium Translate Europe, the Madrid Poetry Slam and a youth and children literature festival.
