EUNIC cluster Peru
(véase más abajo la versión en español) On September 28 2013 for the second consecutive year, EUNIC Peru organized the "European Day of Languages“ at the Italian Cultural Institute. During the afternoon, several promoters of the European culture presented various activities: traditional dances, European food as well as model classes to get introduced by various European languages. At the same time the conference: "Working with languages: interpretation and translation" took place.
From July 19th to August 4th, 2013 EUNIC took part with a booth at the International Book Fair of Lima. During these 17 days also participated the Cultural Centre of Spain, The Netherlands Embassy and the Cultural Association Tulip, the Goethe-Institut Lima, the Alliance Françoise de Lima, the Peruvian British Cultural Association and the Delegation of the European Union. Thousands of people interested in learning about European countries, their languages and their culture visited our stand.
The EUNIC PERÚ award had as its theme for 2013 to support cultural initiatives for women, women’s talents, and women’s rights. In 2013 we honored the talent of women within the framework of the festival “Women’s Words”. This festival was established to highlight the role of women in both civil society and in the Peruvian artistic sector, promoting awareness to the difficulties that women may be faced with in actual society in Peru as well as in other countries throughout the world. This is done by providing them a platform to express their talents.
On the evening of May 4th, 24 local artists and 10 European artists (from Germany, Austria, Finland, France, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic and Switzerland) gathered for the third year at the “Noche en Blanco” event. Forces were combined to create a lively interaction between the artists and the public space in the traditional and bohemian district of Barranco. Artistic exhibitions were the focus of the urban space throughout the night.
