EUNIC in Hungary coproduces music festival within Pecs 2010 European Capital of Culture
EuropeMania, the continent’s popular music festival, aims to help artists from the European Union engage with audience outside their country in the framework of a high-class event: Pécs 2010 European Capital of Culture.
Between 6 and 8 May the audience had an opportunity to see the most recent and state-of-the-art artistic and pop productions. EUNIC in Hungary helped staging more than 50 high quality contemporary productions from over 20 countries. In addition to world-famous performers, several national and international rising talents were also given a shot at glory.
The old beer factory, the Rókus Hill and several other - some really striking – venues hosted the concerts.
The musical offer of the EM put emphasis on introducing those talented bands that already have national reputation but are not yet well known on the international stage. Beside Hungarian bands like Quimby, Bori Péterfy or the Irie Maffia, the audience was thrilled by groups like the Germans Chicks on Speed, or the Finns Le Corps Mince de Françoise.
