French-language Romanian author Liliana Lazar presented her award winning debut novel Terre des affranchis at the European Book Club in Montreal on 13 April.
The debate was animated by Marie-Andrée Lamontagne, journalist, animator, translator and editor for Fides.
 

More than 500 attend European Day of Languages in Toronto

On September 23rd from 4 - 8pm, over 500 people visited the Goethe-Institut Toronto for the European Day of Languages by EUNIC in Canada.

The activities included:
•Free sample classes in German, Spanish, French, Polish, Italian and Finnish
•Specialized classes to check the potential of European languages in your life: "German for Lovers", "Italian for Opera Lovers", "French for Poets" and "Spanish for Travellers"
•Opera performance in several languages
•Salsa presentation

Memory studies and the Identity problem: an international panel to encompass Canadian and European experiences

EUNIC in Canada launched its activities with an international panel on: Memory Studies and the Identity problem: a Cross Reading of European and Canadian Cultural Traditions, held on Tuesday 7 September at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto

EUNIC spreads its wings over Canada

Nine branches of the Alliance Francaise, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura and the Goethe-Institut in Canada have signed on 30 March 2010 the birth certificate of EUNIC in Canada.
Even though Canada is the world's second largest country, EUNIC Canada sets out to work in a nationwide context with local sections in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. There are a mere 4.500 km between Toronto and Vancouver!
