Welcome to EUNIC in the Netherlands.
Our website with details of our activities is here.
For the third consecutive year, the European network of cultural institutes EUNIC in Amsterdam organizes a European Literature Night. This year, twelve authors have written an essay on the theme of Montaigne: 'As we weep and laugh at the same thing' or 'Comme nous pleurons et rions d'une même chose': Nicolas Ancion (Belgium Wallonia), Marcel Beyer (Germany), Laurent Binet (France), Laura Sintija Černiauskaitė (Lithuania),
Together with the Vrijzinnig Christelijk Lyceum in The Hague EUNIC in the Netherlands offers a series of short lectures in different European languages to give an experience of the variety of Europe. For one afternoon young people can connect in a fun and playful way acquaintance with various European languages, to get a sense of the diversity and the similarities.
Native speakers and teachers from 10 European countries, from the Cultural Institutes and international schools, are participating in this project. They’ll give a short impression of their language and culture. With songs and pictures children get a taste of languages like French and German, which are quite well known, but also Maltese, Czech and Hungarian, which are mostly unknown in Western Europe.
