  • The aim of the EUNIC December Events (Brussels, 10-12 December) was to bring the EUNIC Heads together in the same room, to discuss the potential of the Crossroads for Culture Project. The events comprised a day of workshops related to the 4 work packages of the project, a formal dinner with external invitees, and the EUNIC General Assembly.

  • La culture dans les relations extérieures de l'UE

    Motivated by the fact that “the European Union has no cultural relations strategy”, the European Commission mandated in 2011 a consortium of eight cultural organisations, institutes, and a consultancy to propose such a strategy. The report is now published and according to the Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Androulla Vassiliou, it “makes for fascinating reading and brings together concrete proposals as to how to move forward in the coming months and years”.

    The EUNIC Yearbook 2013/2014 is now available! In Europe from the Outside: Expectations of Europe's External Cultural Relations, 30 authors from 20 countries look at what initiatives are needed in the area of external cultural policy. Europe’s history of democracy, tradition of human rights and practice of friendly co-existence means that it has a great deal to offer and it should be investing more heavily in cultural relations with the rest of the world.
