EUNIC in Croatia awards Cultural Fellowships to emerging cultural leaders from Croatia

Posted on 24 May 2012

Together with the Croatian Minister for Culture, Mrs. Andrea Zlatar-Violic, the President of the EUNIC-Cluster Croatia, Georg Lack awarded for the first time two 'EUNIC Cultural Fellowships' to emerging cultural leaders from Croatia.

With Croatia’s accession to the EU approaching quickly the EUNIC-Cluster Croatia felt that that there is a need to strengthen key individuals dealing with cultural management in Croatia and to help them intensify their ties with cultural institutions in the EU. The objective of the fellowships is therefore to engage young Croatian cultural leaders with cultural institutions in the EU by supporting a one to six month attachment to a relevant cultural institution in an EU member state. The attachments are designed so as to produce a continuing productive relationship with the host institution.

The winners of the 2012 fellowships, selected by a EUNIC jury, are Marija Tudor, marketing manager at the Split Municipal Theatre, who will do an internship at the Grips Theater in Berlin and Leila Topic, curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, who will be a trainee at the Paris-based association “platform”.
