Margit Schreiner (Austria) at Europa literarisch, 24 April

EUNIC Berlin is proud to present its 40th reading in the series Europa literarisch with the Austrian author Margit Schreiner. Schreiner, born in 1953 in Linz, will be reading from her new novel Die Tiere von Paris [The Animals of Paris] (Schöffling & Co 2011) followed by a discussion with Thomas Wohlfahrt.
 

Film and Discussion Series: “Farewell Comrades!”

From March to May 2012 the event series “Lebt wohl, Genossen!” [Farewell Comrades!], in conjunction with the ARTE television series of the same name, is examining the collapse of the Soviet Union and its influence up to the present day.

EUNIC Berlin New Year’s Reception at the French Embassy Berlin

Friends, partners and colleagues of EUNIC Berlin celebrated the start of 2012 at the first EUNIC Berlin New Year’s Reception at the French Embassy in Berlin on 19 January. Guests were treated to a performance by cellist Emilia Baranowska and pianist Alessandro Stella.

Theatre Project Hotel Bogota at the Festival of International New Drama (F.I.N.D.) Berlin, 3, 4 and 6 March 2012

A hotel room with its own theatre? The Schaubühne Theatre and EUNIC Berlin have commissioned five of the most promising European playwrights to write new pieces for a unique theatre project at the 2012 Festival of International New Drama (F.I.N.D.). The authors, many of whom have lived in Berlin or are closely connected with the city, have written scenes that take place in the renowned Hotel Bogota Berlin.

Clare Azzopardi (Malta) at Europa literarisch, 28 February, Berlin

For the second time the literature series "Europa literarisch" will feature literature from Malta. Clare Azzopardi will be reading the story Versunken [Immersed] from her collection of short stories Il-Linja I-Hadra translated by Martina Reinecke. 

Cinema Total 5 – Central European Space

For the fifth year in a row, Cinema Total has brought together film experts from Central and Eastern Europe in Berlin on the occasion of the Berlin International Film Festival.

EUNIC Berlin’s TV Debut: Carin Delplanque Interviewed by TV Berlin

EUNIC Berlin made its television debut at the end of January 2012 on the local television channel TV Berlin. Carin Deplanque, Head of the Institut Francais in Germany and Speaker for EUNIC Berlin, was interviewed for the channel’s “Frühcafé” programme on 24 January. Dr Deplanque spoke at length about the work and activities of EUNIC in Germany.

International symposium on theatre and prison in Berlin

The Berlin based aufBruch company organises a 4 day symposium on theatre and prison (6-10 July), with support from EUNIC in Germany Berlin and other partners.
