Dramatic success in Afghanistan
The 6th Afghan National Theatre festival in October 2009 drew a total audience of over 8,000. Many of the plays were subsequently broadcast on Afghan TV. The Festival attracted extensive media coverage.
Theatre has a long tradition in Afghanistan. Its language is understood in all provinces of the country and often involves socio-political themes.
EUNIC in Afghanistan were involved behind the scenes providing assistance will linking local partners.
