Our activities

European literature plus the magic of Prague

Contemporary European literature, famous Czech personalities, the magic of Prague. All of this was on offer on 11 May 2011 during the fifth annual literary event THE LITERATURE NIGHT, which presented the best of contemporary European literary scene, and uncovered the magic of large and small literatures. During one evening Czech celebrities read excerpts from new translations of works by European authors in attractive and generally inaccessible places in Prague.

Presentation of the activities in the Czech Republic

To present EUNIC to a wider community in the Czech Republic, a EUNIC Cocktail was organised on 15 September 2010 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague. The leitmotif of the event was ‘Opening doors to European culture.’

European Day of Languages in Prague

EUNIC in Czech Republic and the Representation of the European Commission in Prague celebrated the European Day of Languages on September 24 with a series of events.

The exhibition on the theme of “Architecture & Inclusion” (14 April – 6 June) presented contemporary European architecture, reflecting on the social issues of a society in the 21st century.

Literature Night: celebs read new European literature

Literature Night 2010, the biggest project of EUNIC in Czech Republic so far, staged during the night of May 12 in Prague a series of public readings by Czech celebritiesof the latest works from 17 big and small European literatures alike.

Film festival for European integration

The New Waves. New Ways Film Festival in October 2009 brought into the spotlight films from the newer members of the EU and those seeking membership.
More than 1500 saw over 40  films, both fiction and documentaries, from 9 countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia), screened at the Romanian Cultural Institute.
