EUNIC Cluster Croatia
The aim of the symposium was to present various practices and approaches in supporting art. At the same time, it was interesting to observe the way those practices evolved and how they function in the present-day on the European and national levels. Likewise, we also wanted to establish a connection with traditional and new practices that evolved in Croatia, a soon-to-be member of the European Union.
With a view to identifying emerging Croatian cultural leaders from both the public and private sectors and engaging them with cultural institutions in the EU in a way which will create a lasting impact, the EUNIC Cluster, Croatia in cooperation with the Croatian Ministry of Culture has decided to create a EUNIC Cultural Fellowship. The Fellowship will be granted in the year 2013 for the second time.
EUNIC Croatia’s “The Great 5 Program » is joining the festival's jubilee with its own anniversary – its fifth year as one of the most popular side programs of Zagreb Film Festival. As usual films from Germany, France, UK, Italy and Spain are screened.
Under the title “Topical Tactics” the exhibition displays fascinating works of contemporary European and international media artists. The show located in one of Zagreb’s most beautiful exhibition spaces, the round-shaped HDLU building, is supported by EUNIC Croatia and brings together a wide range of artistic positions from different countries, enabling visitors to draw lines of connection and continuation to current approaches to the aesthetics of media art.
The regional multimedia literature festival “KROKODIL”, is considered to be an important stage for cultural exchange among young south-east European authors.
Together with the Croatian Minister for Culture, Mrs. Andrea Zlatar-Violic, the President of the EUNIC-Cluster Croatia, Georg Lack awarded for the first time two 'EUNIC Cultural Fellowships' to emerging cultural leaders from Croatia.
Since several years EUNIC Croatia presents The Great Five film programme at the Zagreb Film Festival, Croatia’s most important film festival. 'The Great Five' has become one of the popular side programmes of the Zagreb Film Festival. This year it featured exciting new European films from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and for the first time – Austria.
From 1-15 September 2011 a European Street Art Festival supported by EUNIC Croatia took place in Dugave, a district in the ouskirts of Novi-Zagreb.
EUNIC in Croatia supports Media-Scape Zagreb 2010 The Year We Make Contact, a multimedia event including exhibitions, performances, concerts, film/videoscreenings and roundtable discussions. It brings together international and Croatian artists in the context of media art.
EUNIC in Croatia pursued its cooperation with Zagreb Film Festival on The Great Five programme, one of the most popular side programmes of the Festival. It featured new European films from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. This year they were screened at the Tuskanac Cinema and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
