EUNIC Cluster Austria
Welcome
The EUNIC cluster in Vienna operates within the umbrella network of EUNIC
(European Union National Institutes for Culture) and aims to create effective partnerships
and networks between EU National Institutes for Culture in order to improve and promote
cultural diversity and understanding between European societies and to strengthen
international dialogue and cultural cooperation with countries outside Europe.
The EUNIC Austria cluster develops common cultural projects and other adequate forms of collaboration in cultural project activities. The cluster shares good practices and expertise among cluster members on projects, cultural policies of Austria, organisational and administrative issues.
It is a pleasure for EUNIC Austria to collaborate with many Austrian institutions and to contribute to Vienna’s diverse cultural life! A good piece of Europe in Vienna: That’s EUNIC Austria!
Our activities
The first EUNIC Week in Vienna received highly positive response
From October 1–7, 2012 Vienna was the scene of an extensive programme titled „Pointing the Way – EUNIC Week 2012” that was held for the first time by EUNIC in Austria, the community of European cultural institutes. The main aim of the „EUNIC Week” was to draw the attention of institutions, media, and the public more on the successful cooperation and the various cultural activities of EUNIC in Austria. The patron of the „EUNIC Week” was Dr. Michael Häupl, mayor of Vienna.
First EUNIC WEEK in Vienna, 1-7 October
Pointing the Way – EUNIC Austria gives a sign! is part of an extensive programme titled „EUNIC Week 2012” from October 1–7, 2012 that will be held for the first time by EUNIC Austria, the cluster of European cultural institutes in the capital of Austria at several locations.
The Long Night of European Music
The MuseumsQuartier Wien, one of the largest art and culture complexes in the world, is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2011. EUNIC in Austria partners the celebrations with the Festival of European Culture, an exciting and varied cultural programme ranging from literature readings through open-air film festival to music performances.
European Memory by cartoons
A touring exhibition introduced the European Union and its member states to teachers and their pupils, parents and their children in an original and playful form. This project of EUNIC in Austria originates into Czech cartoon TV-series European Memory, created in 2009 to mark the Czech Republic’s presidency of the EU.
The 20 years that made the difference
EUNIC in Vienna focussed in 2009 on celebrating the 20 years since the 1989 revolutions in Central and East European countries. We supported last year’s edition of the human rights film festival this human world (4-13 December 2009).
